The mission of Veritas Community Church is to make and be disciples of Jesus in the city of Dayton. Our women’s ministry aims to encourage and equip women of all ages to fulfill the mission of our church. In January we gathered together to study the context of the letter to the Philippians. In February we will begin our six-session study of Philippians, as well as monthly book club focusing on the priority and privilege of prayer. Registration for Bible study and book club is still open— check out more details below!
Bible Study
paul’s letter to the philippians
Our Bible study in Philippians will begin in February with Monday evening and Tuesday morning sessions. The study will run for six sessions in our typical biweekly style. This study has been written and designed by Veritas women and for Veritas women! Our prayer is that we will grow together in love for God and be encouraged as we explore themes of joy in suffering, unity among believers, and the majesty of Christ. We would love for you to join us!
Workbooks are free to all registrants and available for personal study for those who cannot attend. Workbooks will be distributed on January 27th at One In Spirit: An Evening in Philippians. As of January 27, requested workbooks will be sent to new registrants as a PDF that can be printed at home or at a local print shop.

“Nearly all Christians would affirm the centrality of prayer for a healthy Christian life. And yet, for many, prayer is often a challenge, requiring intense personal commitment and self-discipline. However, as Megan Hill points out in Praying Together, our normal approach to prayer leaves out a crucial component: other people. While personal prayer is important, God designed the church to be a community of believers who regularly pray together. Exploring the Bible’s rich teaching on what it means to gather at God’s throne with one voice, Hill lays a theological foundation for corporate prayer and offers practical guidance for making it a reality―in our families, churches, and communities.”
